Mike Brewer (NC)

Mike Brewer is a songwriter and musician best known for his longtime collaboration with Matt Berninger of Grammy award-winning indie rock band The National. The two met in college and formed a band, where Brewer was a primary songwriter and guitarist while Berninger handled vocals.

In 2020, Brewer co-wrote and played on multiple tracks from Berninger’s solo debut, Serpentine Prison, including “Let It Be” and “Loved So Little”. He also co-wrote and performed on “Walking on a String”, a song featuring Phoebe Bridgers recorded for Netflix’s Between Two Ferns: The Movie.

Beyond his work with Berninger, Brewer has led several of his own projects, including Mick Skyline, Kola Koca Death Squad, and The Sportsman’s Club.

Though often working behind the scenes, Brewer’s songwriting and musicianship have carved out his own eclectic path across various musical projects.
