About Miguel Depedro

Miguel Manuel De Pedro (born July 26, 1979, Caracas, Venezuela), better known by his alias Kid606, is an experimental electronic musician originally based in San Diego, who later moved to San Francisco.

De Pedro began his career in 1996, recording the start of the first album, ‘Don’t Sweat The Technics’, which released in 1998, which focused on jungle and breakcore scenes at the time. Within the next five years, he would release his critically acclaimed albums ‘Down With The Scene’ (2000), and Kill Sound Before Sound Kills You (2003), the former of which takes a much more gritty, noisy and unpolished approach to IDM and breakcore, whereas the latter is a much more professional album, incorporating different samples and breaks on each track, creating his best received album.

Following his breakcore releases, he firstly took an approach to ambient and electronic pop with ‘Resilience’ (2005), then techno and electro with ‘Pretty Girls Make Raves’ (2006) and Shout At The Döner (2009), and finally ambient (most of his following releases).
