Michete is a rapper hailing from Spokane, Washington. One of Michete’s first big stories came in the form of Pitchfork’s article “Why Michete Is the Worst Queer Rapper You Need to Listen To”. However, that qualified, sensationalist praise has since become genuine with the release of Michete’s second EP, Cool Tricks 2- a sequel to Michete’s first EP, Cool Tricks. Spin gave the EP an 8 of 10, saying “Michete has the best punchlines this side of Nicki Minaj.” Cool Tricks 2 then ended up on Spin’s list of “The Best Albums of 2016 So Far” in June, with a song from the EP ending up on their “The Best 66 Songs of 2016 So Far”. That song, “Come Get It, Daddy” is the only song in Michete’s catalogue not to be entirely written and produced by Michete- the song shares a production credit with Reverend Dollars.
