About Michel’le

Michel'le Denise Toussant is an R&B vocalist from Los Angeles, California. Born on December 5, 1970, she’s known for recording her first hip-hop/soul album and for her high-pitched squeaky voice with a phenomenal singing voice.

Her first featured debut as a vocalist was with the World Class Wreckin' Cru’s 1987 single “Turn Off the Lights” when she was 16 years old. Her 1989 self-titled debut was released on Ruthless Records, produced by Dr. Dre. The album contained hit singles “No More Lies,” “Nicety” and “Something in My Heart.” The album was certified gold and sold over 1.5 million copies.

After a nine-year hiatus, Michel'le released her second album Hung Jury and the single “Hang Tyme” in 1998 on Death Row Records. In 2003, she appeared on the Dysfunktional Family soundtrack. From 2013-2015, she joined the cast of TV One’s reality show R&B Divas: Los Angeles.

In October 2016, Lifetime aired a biopic about her life titled Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel'le, telling the story of her abusive relationship with Dr. Dre and Suge Knight, her experiences with Ruthless and Death Row Records, and a journey to happiness.
