Michael Medrano brings a vintage yet fresh sound to the new decade. Born and raised in the South Bay of Los Angeles, Michael picked up music by ear at the age of 12 and began writing songs between school and home. He began honing in on his craft, spending hours every day learning instruments, transcribing sound, and eventually teaching himself to song-write & produce.
In 2019, Medrano released his biggest single to date, “Fluids,” co-produced by himself and long-time collaborators Zak Leever & DJ Shiftee. The sexually fluid Disco-Pop banger has expanded his reach, with over a million streams with no label or financial backing.
Since then, he’s garnered attention from high-profile, internationally recognized publications such as Paper Magazine, Billboard, Lyrical Lemonade, and MTV. He’s also seen a huge rise in worldwide fans, acquiring a passionate cult following on social media.
This past year, Medrano co-penned his first major release with Epic Records recording artist AJ Mitchell, “Stop.” The song is taking radio by storm, already landing a spot as the #3 most added song to pop radio.
So what’s next? Currently, he spends most of his time in sessions working on his first ever project, due later this year. Keep an eye on him, he’s not slowing down any time soon.
