Michael Hurley was born on December 20th, 1941 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and started writing songs when he was thirteen. He recorded his first Album entitled ‘First Songs’ when he was twenty two

Hurley has three children with his former wife, Marjorie (whom he calls Pasta): his eldest, Daffodil, and two sons, Jordan and Colorado. With his girlfriend, Kim, he had his third son, Rollin, and had a daughter, Wilder Mountain Honey with another girlfriend called Annie.
