Michael Cretu, Romanian Mihai Creţu, Bucharest, 18 May 1957 is a musician best known for being the creator of the Enigma musical project.

He has worked throughout his career with Boney M, Goombay Dance Band, Hubert Kah, Peter Cornelius, Manfred «Thissy» Thiers, Inker & Hamilton, Peter Schilling, Mike Oldfield, Sandra, Peter Ries, Jens Gad, Frank Peterson, David Fairstein, Ruth-Ann Boyle and Andru Donalds.

He had his own recording studio, A.R.T. Studios, located in his house located in the island of Ibiza (Spain) from 1988.
