Michael Cassidy is a Glasgow-based singer/songwriter whose brand of acoustic folk is characterised by his fragile, tender voice and intimate lyrics – all delivered in his distinctive Scottish brogue.
Michael sites a great variety of influences including folk heavyweights Rufus Wainwright and John Martyn, along with the Traditional-Scottish music he was raised on.
In support of the release of his debut album ‘ My Electric Heart’ in 2015 – Michael toured extensively including support slots with Ben Howard, Nathaniel Rateliff and Amy MacDonald. Michael was also awarded the Gerry Rafferty songwriting prize in 2012 for his track ‘The Men Who Stood Beside Me In The War’.
