Michael Arden (October 6, 1982 – ) is an American actor and director. He was born Michael Jerrod Moore in Midland, Texas. Active in theatre as a child, Michael was accepted to the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy. He then went on to study at Juilliard; however, he dropped out when he was cast in the Broadway revival of Big River. Since then, he has both acted and directed many Broadway and off-Broadway shows, receiving critical praise for his work.
His Broadway credits include Big River Tom Sawyer), The Times They Are A-Changin'(Coyote), A Tale of Two Cities (assistant director), and Spring Awakening (director). He was nominated for a Tony for his work on Spring Awakening.
Off-Broadway acting credits include Bare (Peter), Pippin (Pippin), Swimming in the Shallows (Nick), and The Secret Garden (Dickon). Regionally, he has acted as John Robert in Ace, and as Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, for which he received critical acclaim. He reprised the role on the Studio Cast Recording.
