Mew is an alternative rock band formed in Hellerup, Denmark, and consists of Jonas Bjerre (lead vocals), Johan Wohlert (bass) and Silas Utke Graae Jørgensen (drums).

Whilst their music may be classified as indie and on occasion progressive rock, former guitarist Bo Madsen said “I usually say we are ‘indie stadium.’ A mix between ‘feelings’ and ‘thinking’ is usually good.”

Bjerre frequently describes his songwriting as “More a kind of reflection of reality, than a direct narrative. I think of them as glimpses of meaning, in a sea of some sort of chaos. The flotsam in the mind. Sometimes I am conscious about the song’s meaning, but oftentimes I just filter a lot of feelings and thoughts and inspiration, pouring it out of my head”.
