About Melvin War

Dominican-American bachata recording artist Melvin War (aka Melvin Guerra) is diverse in the fact that he is perfecting the blending of different genres into bachata. In 2014, his debut single Antidote was released. Stemming as the lead guitarist from a boy band (Bachata Dreamz), he and his former bandmate Ralphy Dreamz still continue to make records together.

After years went by, 2017 would be the next time content came from the upcoming artist. Four singles, in fact, including a dozen of song where he was a producer or guitarist. One of the artist was an artist signed under Daddy Yankee’s record label (Cartel Records) named Pinto Picasso. Melvin has been working with Pinto under the 4x Grammy nominated super Bachata producer “sP” where he learned to piece together more complex and complete arrangements.

His second single titled Lifeless was released in March 2017 and was also added to the sequel compilation album, Los Trovadores, Vol. 2. In that same album, he was the executive producer where he produced 7 of the 12 tracks in the album and did guitars on 8 tracks.

His name didn’t start moving around until he released the bachata remix and cover of Drake’s song Passionfruit. The same day More Life came out was the same day Melvin started working on the remix/cover song
