About Meat Loaf

Meat Loaf (Marvin Lee Aday) was a rock artist from Texas. He was perhaps best known for his iconic sophomore album Bat Out Of Hell from 1977 and its successors. While Meat Loaf was known to have others such as the likes of Jim Steinman write and compose his songs, his powerful voice and performances have given him a renowned and reputable recognition.

During the mid to late 1980s, he quickly fell into obscurity after a series of albums which resulted in commercial and critical failure. However, in following years, he released more well-received material, and became a popular concert attraction.

Asides his music career, Meat Loaf also found moderate success in his acting career. Some of his most notable appearances in film include Tenacious D and The Pick Of Destiny, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Fight Club and Wayne’s World.

In terms of family, he was married to Leslie Edmonds from 1979 until 2001, after only a month of courting. He has a daughter, now-actress Amanda Aday, and a stepdaughter, Pearl Day, from Edmonds' previous marriage.

Meat Loaf lived with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome among other health issues. He passed away on January 20, 2022 at age 74 with his wife by his side. His cause of death is yet unreleased.
