New York-bred, Baltimore transplant MC Bravado has taken the road less traveled, leaving behind his career as a High School English Teacher to jump on the famed Vans Warped Tour in June of 2018. Fortunately, putting his heart and soul into the music has led to more touring, major festival appearances (SXSW, A3C), and critical acclaim from BILLBOARD, Rolling Stone, FOX, ABC, CBS, Shade45, REVOLT TV, Okayplayer, Lyrical Lemonade, HipHopDX, and many more.
Bravado’s brand of witty and dense but visceral lyricism, deft storytelling, and an endless bag of cadences have made him worthy of collaborating and sharing stages with the likes of Bone Thugs, Scarface, Big Daddy Kane, Joell Ortiz, Statik Selektah, Nappy Roots, GZA, RA The Rugged Man, Jarren Benton, Dizzy Wright, and Chris Webby, among others.
Walking the walk of championing at-risk youth, the former Baltimore City high school English teacher still keeps a leg in the classroom as a program coordinator for the Baltimore nonprofit music education program Beats Not Bullets, recipients of the SXSW Community Service Award. Beats Not Bullets has recently extended beyond the school system and into the prison system as well, giving incarcerated artists an invaluable therapeutic outlet as well as industry and job placement opportunities upon their release.
