Musician and visual artist Mayo Thompson was born on February 26th 1944 in Houston, Texas and is most known for being the front man and sole constant in the avant-rock band Red Krayola (originally known as Red Crayola).
In the mid-1970s he moved to England and began working for newly-formed Rough Trade records, producing many of the early post-punk, indie and alternative records that were emerging from the scene, this included: The Fall, The Monochrome Set, Stiff Little Fingers, The Raincoats, Cabaret Voltaire and Kleenex/LiLiPUT.
He would then go on to join Pere Ubu in the early-80s as well as later work with Primal Scream on their debut album.
