Maya Cumming (born August 24, 2001), also known as MAY-A, is a Byron Bay-raised, Sydney-based songwriter.

Having written music since the age of 12, MAY-A is prolific but patient, sitting on a collection of over 100 demos while also painstakingly crafting tracks which have spent years in development, often over the course of hours spent alone at her piano.

The artist has honed a brand of songwriting that marries the classic pop structures and storytelling of favorites that permeated her childhood home with the post-genre sensibilities of Billie Eilish, the nonchalant Gen Z cool of Clairo and Lorde.
