Australian born artist ‘MAVV.’ has created multiple sounds in his music, providing melodic, R&B, trap-soul and rapping elements. His unique style is developed from the likes of his favourite artists, some of which include; Drake, Tory Lanez, NAV, Bryson Tiller, PnB Rock, Juice WRLD, PARTYNEXTDOOR and Chris Brown. The name ‘MAVV.’ derives from a nickname his family and friends have used throughout his life.

Born James Mavrovelis, MAVV.’s love for rap and hip-hop started off with the likes of Ice Cube and the 90’s west coast scene. MAVV.’s love for R&B was introduced to him at a young age listening to his mum’s R&B mixtapes. Those mixtapes included R&B artists such as; Mario, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown and Lloyd. MAVV.’s love of rap, R&B and hip hop developed as he ventured through listening to many different artists. Listening to these different artists allowed him to develop a love for multiple styles of hip-hop, rap and R&B. Through this love of hip-hop, rap and R&B, MAVV. decided to focus on writing songs and help develop his own sound. He can switch between rapping straight bars on a song, to also being able to create a R&B or melodic type of song which anyone can vibe with. MAVV.’s fuel for song writing stems from his own experiences with love, heartbreak, battles with his own mental health and learning how to deal with those emotions.
