Mauro Farina (born December 9, 1956) is an Italian Eurohouse, Eurodance, Italodisco/Eurobeat composer and remixer, DJ, and producer. He’s the executive producer and president of The S.A.I.F.A.M. Group, which he cofounded in 1981 in Verona. He’s better known as Ken Martin, Mark Farina, and Mark Farina & the Factory Team.
Farina started singing in the 70s. In the 80s, he joined the band Caravan and released the first Italodisco single You and Me in 1983. In parallel, Farina founded – with Giuliano Crivellente and Giacomo Maiolini – the Time Records label. After initial big success in the Japanese market, he decided to leave Time Records with Giuliano Crivellente. In 1988, Farina and Crivellente joined Florian Fadinger and established Asia Records. The trio was then to be called FCF (from the first letters of the names) and came to fame. They produced as well for smaller labels like FCF Records, Radiorama Productions and Flea Records. After the decision to build a third studio Farina and Crivellente created Factory Team with Johnny Di Martino (Johnny Mix) and Fabio Serra. Di Martino replaced Laurent Gelmetti for the mixing parts and became their main sound engineer. Their tracks were published in Japan by Alfa International and Canyon International and were featured on the That’s Eurobeat series. From 1986 to 1991, Mauro Farina sold 8 millions albums and received 11 gold and 3 platinum disc awards (according to Discogs).
