Marty Kristian

Marty Kristian (birth name Mārtiņš Vanags) was born on May 27, 1947 in Leipzig, Germany. In 1950 he migrated to Australia where in 60’s started his musical career and issued several solo singles. In 1969 he relocated to UK and became a founder of the New Seekers.
As a band member Marty wrote or co-wrote tracks for The New Seekers, sang and played guitar and banjo. The New Seekers broke up in 1974 and Marty formed a side project Peter, Paul & Marty with former band-mates Peter Oliver and Paul Layton.
