Martin started his career at the age of 15 when he signed his first publishing deal in his native Sweden, and has now been making music for over thirty years as an artist, songwriter, musician and producer.
He is the owner of the legendary Eastcote and Kensaltown Studios in West London, and a founding member of the multi-disciplinary art collective Apparatjik with Magne F (A-Ha), Guy Berryman (Coldplay), and Jonas Bjerre (MEW).
Martin spent part of his childhood in 1970’s Caracas, Venezuela. His musical aesthetics were formed by what he heard in Caracas on American radio including Elvis, Latin music and old soul masters like Curtis Mayfield and Al Green. And later bands as diverse as Deep Purple, Kraftwerk and Steely Dan that he listened to back in Stockholm as a teenager in the late 1980’s.
Martin’s writing collaborations and productions have won multiple Grammy, Brit and Juno awards and in 2009 he was named one of the top 10 most successful music producers of hit songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart. His writing and production credits speak for themselves: “I’m Yours” (Jason Mraz), “Hey Soul Sister” (Train), “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” (Mike Posner), “Other Side Of The World” (KT Tunstall), RX (Theory of A Deadman), Corre (Jesse and Joy), Luis Fonsi, Christina Aguilera, Mika, James Blunt, Jamie Cullum, Coldplay, James Morrison, Mary J Blige, Buika, Martha Wainwright, A-Ha, Westlife, Craig David, Cat Stevens, Ron Sexsmith, Backstreet Boys and many more.
Martin has been involved in the early careers and development of artists like KT Tunstall, James Morrison, Rita Ora, Shawn Mendes and many others. As partner and Head of Recorded Music in LOCOMOTION, he is excited to continue his work with new young artists such as YUNGBLUD and BarlowLN.
