About Mariqueen Maandig

Former backing vocalist of experimental rock band West Indian Girl and current vocalist of industrial alternative group How To Destroy Angels, Mariqueen Maandig Reznor was born in the Phillipines on April 5th, 1981. She has four children with her husband, Trent Reznor.

Her first passion in the arts was a soundtrack for the musical Miss Saigon, a romantic story depicting an American GI and a Vietnamese bargirl in the throes of passion, where she conditioned her teenge vocal ability after the style that it contained. Over time, she shifted through numerous pallettes, from Broadway aspirations to fashion designs until she decided that a recording career was her true calling.

She landed a spot in the band West Indian Girl as a background vocalist from 2004 to 2009 but parted ways with the group to find a musical outlet that she could express more freely within. It was around this time that that she met and wedded Trent Reznor, the main contributor to Nine Inch Nails.

They couple began working in the studio together in early 2010 (alongside Atticus Ross) on the self-titled EP How To Destroy Angels, which was released later that year for free digitally. It was a fusion of electronica, industrial, and other alternative genres. Mariqueen had finally reached creative control of a project to be proud of.

She has also released An Omen and Welcome To Oblivion under the HTDA moniker.
