Marco Chali

Marco Mathias Chali better known as Marco Chali is a well known music producer, recording engineer, songwriter and even a musician who has taken over the Tanzania music industry by storm. This 31 year old, who is also the first born in a family of seven, has always had a passion for music since at a very young age.

With a musical career which can be traced back as far as ten years, Marco has truly won himself a spot among the greatest producers in East Africa. Marco started his journey to fame as a choir master but later on transitioned to working as a teaching assistant for keyboard classes.

The experience Marco learned through being a choir master and a teaching assistant kick started Marco’s career as a music producer, for not long after that Marco met Enrico of Soundcrafters Studios. Under Enrico’s guidance Marco discovered a new found passion in music production and programming and with Enrico’s help he learnt how to produce and engineer music by using computers and soft-wares.

With his growing talent and unique sound Marco experimented with his career through working in several recording studios in Tanzania. Through working in studios such as Vine Yard Records, Serious Records, Nash Records, Metro Studios, Big Apple and Kama Kawa Records, Marco managed to build himself a name in the Tanzania music industry.

However, it wasn’t until Marco Chali decided to finally settle down at one of the biggest recording studios in Tanzania, MJ Records, did his dreams finally come true. Having impressed the CEO of MJ Records, Master J, Marco was given the opportunity of running the studio by himself. With such an opportunity in his hands Marco produced and engineered many of East Africa’s hits and gained the respect of many in the music scene. Not only that but Marco also went on to win his first Kilimanjaro Music award for Best Producer in 2008.
