Marca MP is a California-based Regional Mexican group whose sound embraces banda, mariachi, and ranchera. Their 2019 debut single “El Guerro,” a collaboration with Grupo Firme, was the most watched online video in Mexico that year. Since that time, they’ve independently issued five digital-only live albums, the studio-recorded Flores EP, and the studio long-player No Me Quejo. Formed in 2018 by a quartet of high school friends, the group included lead vocalist Pedro Vargas (aka “El Chato”), tuba player Esteban Salcedo, and guitarists Cristian Daniel and Jesús Tizoc. They gigged at private and street parties in southern California, played invitation-only concerts and weddings, and toured locally and regionally opening for groups playing in northern Mexico.
