Manwell “Manny” Reyes is a rapper, singer, and songwriter from New York. Reyes was the lead man to former Christian hip-hop/pop collective Group 1 Crew until their disbanding around 2016. Also in 2016, Reyes had surgery on his vocal chords that could have ended his career in music altogether, but successfully recovered. After the surgery, Reyes started working with producer LANDA, forming the rap/pop project PANDA$, making more personal music than from his Group 1 Crew days. The two’s music made its way to the ears of Capitol/Virgin records, which ended up landing them a deal.
