Malik Brown better known by his stage name Fadah is a 23-year old rapper from Chicago’s Southside (Englewood area). He started writing music when he was around 13 years old after moving to the small town of Lexington, Mississippi, because of issues at home in Chicago. Doubtless, he began with lunch table raps like any other early teen aspiring to be an artist. After getting poor responses from most of his peers, he decided that music wasn’t his forte'.
In the summer of 2012, Fadah and his family relocated to the Chicago Englewood area. He almost instantly enrolled in Bogan High School located on Chicago’s now infamous street, 79th. As Fadah began his junior year, he’d come across a classmate with studio equipment in his home. At that moment is when Fadah started his rap career for the second time. He would eventually be introduced to YOUmedia library (@YOUmediachicago), popular for introducing artists like Chance The Rapper and Taylor Bennett, where he’d record almost every day after school. This would only last so long as he would eventually earn his diploma and, on a whim, enroll in the University of Illinois-Springfield.
Fadah would not adjust easily as he had been accustom to city living for the majority of his life. Nonetheless, new places provide new opportunities. He was introduced to a studio on campus where he could record music for free, which was basically a friends dorm room.
After 2 years, Fadah was introduced to the owner of RichSociety© (Rich-Society.com), Mhalik Jones (@Richsoleek). Richsoleek would eventually connect Fadah with The Trakkaddicts (@trakkaddicts); a production company based out of Chicago. ‘The Trakkaddicts’ have worked with some of Chicago’s hottest talent including artists like Chance The Rapper, Lil Durk, Lil Herb, Tink, and more. Since the introduction, ‘Trakkaddicts’ and Fadah have been side by side, making song after song with the same goal in mind; success.
After 3 years of work, the single “Merch” was born. The song became the most popular tune on the UIS campus and eventually caught the attention of FakeShoreDrive (fakeshoredrive.com) owner, Andrew Barber (@fakeshoredrive) earning placement on his blog site, along with numerous other Hip-Hop blogs. “Merch” would also be played on Sirius XM’s Shade45 (@Shade45) and be placed in “the drive top 5” as number 2 behind Dreezy ft. Wale – Afford My Love. This would eventually lead to radio play on Power 92.3 and music visual from Chicago’s well-known videographer DGainz (@Dgainz).
As of now, Fadah maintains focus in promoting his single “Merch” as he prepares for the debut of his upcoming project ‘DESTINY.’, set to be released May 12, 2018, which happens to be the same date Fadah will be receiving a bachelors degree in Communications. All pun intended.
