About Macie Stewart

One half of the alt-rock band Ohmme, Macie Stewart is a Chicago-based musician, song writer, improvisor, and arranger. She has contributed to countless projects as a violinist and guitar player, and often collaborates in free improvisation with composer/performer Lia Kohl. Stewart is a versatile artist, whose work spans across the genres rock, hip-hop/rap, jazz, noise, and folk music. Her debut solo album, Mouth Full of Glass will be released through Orindal Records, preceded by the lead single, “Finally”.

Macie Stewart was born March 11, 1993, into a musical family, and quickly started piano and violin studies at age 3. After paying her dues in the Chicago avant-garde jazz scene, Macie created the band Ohmme with friend and fellow Chicago based musician Sima Cunningham in 2014. The two would go on to release three full albums, many singles, and a dance-film collaboration.
