Mabel McVey, known simply as Mabel, is a singer and songwriter based in London, United Kingdom.
Born in Malaga, Spain and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, she is the daughter of singer and songwriter Neneh Cherry and Massive Attack producer Cameron McVey. She began her music career in 2015 with her debut single, “Know Me Better.” Follow-up singles included “My Boy My Town” and “Thinking of You.” In May 2017, she released the 4-track Bedroom EP featuring the title track and her breakout single, “Finders Keepers.” After releasing a mixtape, Ivy to Roses, in October that year, she started 2018 with the release of her single “Fine Line.” The track and follow-up singles, “Ring Ring” (with Jax Jones and Rich the Kid) and “One Shot,” were added to a revised version of the mixtape in January 2019, which also included her first UK top 3 single, “Don’t Call Me Up.” The latter single featured on her long-awaited debut album, High Expectations, released on August 2, which also included the UK top 10 single “Mad Love.”
