Originally born in Mie Prefecture, Japan on 3 January 1975, Jun Maedais a Japanese writer and co-founder of the visual novel brand, Key. He is known as one of the pioneers of visual novels, contributing as a scenario writer, lyricist and musical composer for the games the company produces.

After graduating from Chukyo University, he formed Key while working with the animation company Tactics. His notable works include Clannad, Kanon, Angel beats!, Charlotte, Summer Pockets and Little Busters! to name a few.

At Key, Maeda worked on the music of all visual novels and anime titles as a composer and lyricist. All the original soundtrack albums of his projects are released under Key Sounds Label such as Clannad (Original Sountrack album), Charlotte (Original Soundtrack album) and Kanon (Original Soundtrack album) etc.
