LUXXURY (aka Los Angeles-based producer, songwriter and DJ Blake Robin) heavily steeps his sound in classic West Coast sunshine vintage disco vibes: think LCD Soundsystem dipped in the Bee Gees and then remixed by Todd Terje. First making waves in 2014 with his controversial LUXXURY edits series of dubby, slow disco remixes highlighting buried gold in the original multitracks of classic songs, LUXXURY quickly enjoyed support from DJ Harvey, Greg Wilson, Psychemagik, In Flagranti and hundreds more. His controversial “Hotel California” edit attracted half a million Soundcloud streams and press from Wall Street Journal, LA Times, Vice and many more. In 2016 LUXXURY began to release a series of original singles on Eskimo, Deep & Disco, Plant and Robin’s own label Nolita, and debuted his 4 piece live band on NBC’s Last Call with Carson Daly. The band have also opened for Giorgio Moroder, Kraak n Smaak, Escort, The Juan Maclean and many more disco icons. For his DJ aka “Live Remix” sets, LUXXURY remixes his collection of multitrack stems on the fly using Ableton Live and his trusty Akai APC40 Mk2, resulting in a one-time-only experience of mostly unreleased and totally exclusive LUXXURY edits. He has toured extensively in the US, Mexico, and Europe.
