The rivalry that defined Spanish literature during its time was the one between Francisco de Quevedo and Luis de Góngora (1561-1627). Where Quevedo favored a more epigrammatic style based on wordplay, Góngora preferred neologisms and ostentatious displays of erudition. The two writers frequently mocked each other’s poetry, finances, politics, sexuality, and personal appearances. The word Gongorism is still used to describe flowery overwriting, but the 300th anniversary of Góngora’s death is credited as a catalyzing event in the literary revival in Spain in the 1920s.
The most popular song by Luis de Góngora's is Mientras por competir con tu cabello
Luis de Góngora's first song Soneto CLXVI (”Mientras por competir con tu cabello”) released on Thu Jan 01 1970.
