Ludo is an indie/alternative rock band that hails from St. Louis, Missouri. Formed in the early 2000s, their latest lineup consists of lead vocalist/guitarist Andrew Volpe, lead guitarist/back up vocalist Tim Ferrell, moog/synth/back up vocalist Tim Convy, and drummer/back up vocalist Matt Palermo. They used to have a bassist, Marshall Fanciullo, but he was relieved of his duties with the band in 2008, leaving them with no permanent bass player.
They have produced three studio albums and one EP. Their most popular song is Love Me Dead from their 2008 album You’re Awful, I Love You, which charted at #8 on the US Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks.
After 2010’s Prepare the Preparations, the band went on an indefinite hiatus, with Volpe and other members opting to focus on their side project Hot Problems. This seems to have went on until July of 2018, when they announced two new HalLUDOween shows to be performed on October 27th later that year in commemoration of both the 15th anniversary of their formation and the 10th anniversary of the release of You’re Awful, I Love You.
HalLUDOween was repeated in 2019, to substantial interest. It was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19, but in lieu of the live show Ludo released their first new single in years, Scare Me. In 2021 the HalLUDOween performance was scheduled for three nights due to demand.
