David Brown, a.k.a. Lucky Daye, is a singer signed to RCA Records and Keep Cool Records. He is also signed to BMI as a songwriter. He first garnered notoriety when he auditioned for American Idol season 4 in 2005, where he advanced through several rounds.
He has songwriting credits for many artists, including Mary J. Blige, Ella Mai, Trey Songz, August Alsina, and Keke Palmer.
On October 26, 2018, Lucky Daye released his debut single, “Roll Some Mo,” which would appear on his debut EP, I. After a second EP, appropriately titled II, he released his debut album on May 24, 2019, titled Painted. He received four Grammy nominations at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards in 2019, with Painted nominated for Best R&B Album, “Real Games” nominated for Best Traditional R&B Performance, and “Roll Some Mo” nominated for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance.
