lovelytheband is a three-piece indie pop band consisting of lead Mitchy Collins, guitarist Jordan Greenwald, and drummer Sam Price.

The group told onestowatch that Greenwald and Collins met through mutual friends, and Price joined after being Instagram-messaged by Collins. The trio formed in Los Angeles in 2016 and made their debut in July 2017 with broken. In September 2017, the band released their first EP, everything i could never say…, on the Another Century label.

Mitchy Collins also commented in onestowatch that he is “pretty open about the fragility that is my brain and the things I deal with like depression and anxiety and everyday hardships.” This theme runs throughout their debut EP. Commenting on “broken”, Collins told Billboard that:

This song is about finding someone who is just as f—ed up and lost as you are, but somehow you make it work together. Everyone is a little bit broken inside, nobody’s perfect.

The band’s debut full-length finding it hard to smile was released in 2018, supported by singles “broken”, “these are my friends”, and “maybe, i’m afraid”. Their second album conversations with myself about you came two years later.
