LoVel James (born April 24th, 1992), who performs under the name LoVel, is a New York City based recording artist, singer, songwriter and producer. He has been writing, engineering and mixing his own material from the age of 12. LoVel has worked behind the scenes in the music industry since 2011, specifically in the field of film and television. His experience as an engineer and songwriter landed him placements in various blockbuster movies including “The Best Man Holiday”, Dreamwork’s “Turbo”, and Dreamwork’s “VeggieTales”, along with various television network placements including (but not limited to) Fox’s Empire, The Bad Girl’s Club, NBA on TNT, VH1, E!, and ESPN.
Seeking to further pursue his own career as a recording artist in 2015, LoVel released his debut EP, Backseat Memories, along with various singles featuring artists such as Dave East, Nitty Scott MC, and Fetty Wap. Backseat Memories is the first of an EP trilogy. LoVel released the trilogy’s second installment, Passenger, in the summer of 2018 and with this release along with an east coast mini tour, LoVel has been able to build a strong regional fan base. In his short career as an artist, LoVel’s success has been prominent as he’s gained worldwide exposure and notched over 1.6 Million total plays on Soundcloud, over 800 thousand total streams on Spotify and over 500 thousand total streams on Youtube with his releases to date.
