About Louchie Lou & Michie One

Louchie Lou & Michie One are Louise Gold and Michelle Charles, a London, UK-based female ragga/soul duo, who met in the early ‘90’s at a Rebel MC gig. Fashion Records quickly picked up the duo and before long they had their first non-album hit single “Rich Girl” a melodic recreation of “If I Were A Rich Man” from the critically-acclaimed Broadway musical Fiddler on the Roof. The duo’s single, “Rich Girl,” was also adapted in 2004 by Gwen Stefani featuring rapper Eve. Their follow-up “Shout” charted at No. 7 on the UK Singles Chart from their debut album, October 1995’s II Be Free, which also includes “Champagne & Wine.”

The musical duo’s second album, May 1997’s Danger-Us included production from in-demand reggae production team extraordinaire, Sly & Robbie, QDIII, Jazzwad, who worked with reggae stars Buju Banton and Shabba Ranks and Buzz Productions, who collaborated with the likes of Maxi Priest and Barrington Levy.

The duo subsequently turned to individual pursuits and interests.
