A battle rapper and MC from Tampa, Florida, Carlos Bedoya – better known as Loso – started rapping for the sole purpose of effectively reaching teenagers in juvenile detention centers in his hometown, and years later the mission is still the same. Although Loso’s platform has grown and changed in recent years, his gift is still used to glorify God and reach those who do not know him. Loso has a clear understanding that impressing the culture isn’t enough, he must also impact it. His talent has taken him all over the country and even overseas, opening up for some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop. God’s gift to Loso, whether it be rap performance, spoken-word poetry, or battle rapping, has truly been a blessing, not only to Loso but also those he comes in contact with.
As an MC, Loso is known for his original thought-provoking concept albums, spiritual songs, and introspective lyrics. However, that does not mean he doesn’t like to have fun every now and then. He also does remixes of popular rap songs – most notably “Hot N****” by Bobby Shmurda, and “XO Tour Llif3” by Lil Uzi Vert.
As a battle rapper, Loso has been shaking up the battle scene since debuting on John John Da Don’s Bullpen Battle League on February 21, 2016, against Bully Danny at the Kills Confirmed event. He’s also stepped up to battle on other leagues, including King of the Dot, Rare Breed Entertainment, and Enter The Dungeon.
As a battler, Loso is known for his sense of humor, charisma, and wordplay, with his signature move, “Imaginary Gun Bars,” being a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Yet, Loso is also known for his devout Christian beliefs, just like his friend, fellow Bullpen Battler (and Loso’s 2-on-2 partner) Street Hymns. Because of their beliefs, Loso and Street Hymns are part of a Christian battle crew named The Horsemen, along with A. Ward , Th3 Saga, Street Hymns and Ooops. The crew formed in October 2017, with the name inspired by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse – Famine, War, Pestilence, and Death - from the Bible book of Revelation, in the New Testament and then changed the name to simply The Horsemen after Ooops joined the group in 2020.
