The quartet band hails from Kansas City, Missouri and Minneapolis, Minnesota, comprised of rapper/singer Tony “Prof T” Tolbert, singer/trumpeter Darron “D” Story, singer Andre “Dre” Shepard, bassist Tyrone “T-Bone” Yarbrough and producer/keyboardist Lance Alexander. The group released their debut album, October 1992’s Where Dey At?, on Perspective Records. They released a single titled “I Got A Thang 4 Ya!” in 1992, charted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart and followed up at No. 27 on the Hot 100 list.
Alexander and Tolbert later disbanded to form a production duo and went on to work with producers extraordinaire Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis' Flyte Tyme Productions. The duo has also worked with the likes of Earth, Wind & Fire, Janet Jackson and Usher. Producer Lance Alexander later on formed a group called V.I.P., which released a single “Lil Mama How Ya Do Dat” featuring Juvenile under his own label Baby Honey Recordings.
