About Little Boots

Victoria Christina Hesketh, known better as Little Boots, a British singer-songwriter and DJ born in 1984 in Blackpool. Her stage name “Little Boots” comes from a nickname given to her by one of her friends.

Hesketh has been playing the piano since the age of 5, and when she was in college she entered the TV competition Pop Idol but didn’t make it past the third round. It was in 2005 when she formed an electropunk band called Dead Disco, however, she didn’t feel comfortable with the band’s style and started writing her own songs until 2008 when the band announced their disbandment.

In 2009, she released her debut EP Arecibo which gained her some recognition and led her to being chosen as the BBC Sound of the Year 2009. Later that year, she released her debut album Hands which spawned the two top-twenty singles in the UK “New In Town” and “Remedy”. Since then, she has also pursued her career as a DJ.
