Lise Darly was born on December 27, 1981, in Nice, France. Lise began her career in music at a young age. She gained national attention in 1999 when she won the Graine de Star Tour, a well-regarded talent competition in France triumphing over more than one hundred contestants.
This victory launched her professional career, and by 2001, she was performing regularly, including collaborations with prominent French artists such as Dave and Jeane Manson. She also performed with the Grand Orchestra of Baie des Anges, touring in France and across Europe.
In 2003, Lise entered the casting process to select Monaco’s entry for the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest (known as Elise Granier at that time), finishing second in the internal selection.
Although she was not chosen that year, she was later selected to represent Monaco in the 2005 contest, held in Kyiv, Ukraine. Her entry “Tout de moi” was a French-language ballad composed by Didier Fabre with lyrics by Philippe Bosco, who had also written Monaco’s 2004 entry.
Lise performed sixth in the Eurovision 2005 semi-final on May 19, following Latvia and preceding Israel. Despite a strong vocal performance, Monaco did not advance to the final.
Lise placed 24th out of 25 in the semi-final, earning 22 points—10 from France, 10 from Andorra (which used a jury due to insufficient televoting), and 2 from Moldova. This result placed Monaco 38th out of 39 total participating countries.
Nevertheless, her artistic presentation was honored with the Marcel Bezençon Award for Best Artistic Performance, recognizing the quality of her stagecraft and interpretation.
Following Eurovision, Lise continued her career in music and entertainment. In 2009, she released her debut album, which received positive reviews for its blend of modern pop and traditional French chanson.
In 2012, she appeared on the French edition of The Voice, reaching the live performance rounds. She also ventured into acting, appearing in the 2013 film L’Étoile Filante.
As of the most recent updates, Darly resides in Monaco, where she remains active in the local entertainment industry. She has performed at various cultural events, including high-profile celebrations such as Monaco’s New Year festivities.
Her work continues to reflect her dedication to vocal artistry and performance.
