“Personally it’s taken me a long time to figure out that I can be an indie musician. Growing up, my gender’s representation was poor in the genres I listened to, and representation of my ethnicity was none existent. It can feel overwhelming sometimes when I notice I am the only woman of colour in the room, but… I don’t want to give it up.”
