Montero Lamar Hill, also known as Lil Nas X is a hip-hop artist haling from Atlanta. He dropped out of his freshman year in college in 2018 to pursue music full time.

On December 2nd, 2018, he released the hit “Old Town Road” which blew up through TikTok memes. It finally entered the Billboard Hot 100 in early March 2019. Old Town Road reached #1 on Spotify, iTunes and Apple Music as well as becoming the first song to simultaneously chart on the Billboard country and hip-hop/R&B charts before it was disqualified from the country charts. This caused lots of controversies. The track was eventually remixed featuring country singer Billy Ray Cyrus.

Belcalis Almanzar, also known as Cardi B is a rapper and TV personality known for her friendly attitude. From 2015 to 2017. She starred on the TV show Love & Hip Hop, on which she landed a role after she became popular on the internet due to her personality and stripping endeavors. Following her departure from the series, she attained success in music with her chart-topping summer smash “Bodak Yellow”. She is married to Migos member Offset. Cardi also gave birth to Kulture Kiari Cephus, Offset’s fourth child and Cardi’s first.

The song “Rodeo,” included on Lil Nas X’s major label debut, 7, is the first ever song that included the two artists together.
