Lil Gin met Skinny Pimp at Skinny’s club, aptly named Skinny’s Place and recorded his first song with Skinny and DJ Paul (Glock In My Draws). Skinny Pimp himself gave Lil Gin his name, originally being Lil Gin and Juice, with Juice being a female friend of Gin that didn’t follow Gin’s rapping path, thus shortening his moniker just to Lil Gin.
Gin grew up without a father due to an incident that occured when he was 8, that being his father was robbed & shot in the stomach. Hailing out the North Memphis' Hurt Village projects, Gin explored the underbelly of Memphis, such as visiting clubs and strip joints. The basis for one of his more popular songs, Shake Junt, is based in reality and personal experiences, as Gin would find himself frequenting these locations under the assumption that he was merely a midget, which would tip off club owners & bouncers to allow him in.
Gin currently has a wife and four daughters & focuses on work outside of music.
