Liars were formed in 2000 by Angus Andrew and Aaron Hemphill in Los Angeles. They have released eight studio albums and are signed to Mute Records. Having gone through a number of line-up and genre changes since incarnation, they combine elements of punk-rock with electronica.
Julian Gross (drums) joined Liars in 2004, leaving in 2014. Aaron Hemphill parted amicably with the group in 2017. Angus Andrew has remained the only constant member of the group.
