Leslie Edward Claypool, known professionally as Les Claypool, is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, best known as the lead vocalist and bassist (and only continuous member) of the alternative metal band Primus.

Claypool’s bass-playing is characterized by a unique blend of techniques, including tapping, flamenco-style, whammy bends, and slapping.

Outside of Primus, Claypool has collaborated with several other well-known artists, including Zach Hill (of Death Grips and Hella fame), and Sean Lennon (the son of famed rock musician John Lennon), with whom he founded The Claypool Lennon Delirium. Claypool has also released 2 solo albums, Of Whales and Woe and Of Fungi and Foe.
