Lena Mædgen Rayhan Widelene Kamila Anesippe (born July 6th, 2004) shortly known as Lena Mædgen is a French recording artist known for her abilities as a producer, engineer and DJ. A name originally came from FKA twigs enigmatic 2019 album “MAGDALENE”.

At a young age, Lena has been introduced to music from her parents playing a lot of the 80s, 90s and 2000s R&B, Hip-Hop/Rap and Electronic Dance Music at home with artists who will leave the first musical mark with Destiny’s Child, TLC, Timbaland, Pharrell Williams, N.W.A., Britney Spears, JAY-Z, David Guetta, Afrojack, NERVO and many more throughout her childhood.

In 2010, Lena was introduced to a new generation of artists by her sister. Being a fan of the boy band One Direction, Lena’s sister played a lot of their music around the house make her introduced to a new scene in the pop era. She kept discovering music and starting to listening to Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and Rihanna. Her identity has a kid was expressive, amusing and felt free with listening to the music they loved together. By that, in 2016 her sister expanded their music taste to Lena with underground and mainstream artists like Nao, Mura Masa, The Weeknd, Troye Sivan, ZAYN, Alina Baraz, Jack Garratt and Rilès but there’s one artist’s music who’s been touching her from the heart and that was SZA. She had an impact on Lena in 2017 when “Ctrl” released with songs like ‘Go Gina’, ‘Drew Barrymore’ or her personal favorite ‘Broken Clocks’. During that period of time she was interested in the R&B scene and starting to hear many artists make the difference.

At the age of 13, she wanted to make music on her own. She decided to start producing music on the professional editing software VEGAS Pro where she discovered for the first time sampling. She started to releasing music under the name Stellinger for having at least a name to put on for her remixes and mostly her mash-ups.

From songs from other artists that was inspiring for Lena when she made a mash-up of the songs ‘Wild’ from Troye Sivan and ‘Sunset Lover’ by Petit Biscuit. Posting her mash-ups on YouTube, she kept experimenting with song like ‘Attention’ by Charlie Puth, ‘Broken Clocks’ by SZA or ‘Outro : Tear’ by the boy group, BTS. She made all of the mash-ups with passion for their music.

After a 2 years break from making mash-ups on YouTube, Lena plays a video-game called ‘Asphalt 9: Legends Unite’. While playing, she fell in love with a song but didn’t knew the artist who produced it, to find out in late 2019 that it was the english electronic producer ‘JOYRYDE’ who will contribute to a door that led Lena discover a new musical scene.

In 2019 at 15 years old, she dreamed about a successful career in the music industry, being known as a music producer and DJ. A well known artist that put Lena in the new Electronic Dance Music era was Marshmello with his song ‘Know Me’.

Making her debut with her EP “VII” in 2021 who’s starting to set the whole environment of her music. Songs like “spėculum” with a unique sound combine with soft piano, synthesizers and harsh drums, “incªndėscėncė” or “within undernėªth”. She decided to at least to released the preface and the end of “VII”, “WHEN I REALIZE I WAS A BROKEN BUTTERFLY ” and “IDOMATIC WITHOUT ANY FEELINGS”. Even though the EP wasn’t officially released by her label Wonderful Cursal , it’s still listen to this day and appreciated by fans.

Understanding that she didn’t deliver something concrete, in 2022 she released one of her most loved projects to this day, her mixtape “DARJEELING, 7” with songs like “Ethernal.” with a dark experimental/hard-trap sound, “GIRLS DON’T CRY. (Outro ¿)” or the most known song from her discography “Die Alone.” from a melancholic, blues inspired downtempo/alternative pop sound. In the same year, she could show her talent to the world by being one of the rising artists of Rock En Seine 2022 (Première Seine) with artists like Going Forward, MOZA, Spleeners and many more. It was well received with a record of 100.000 streams total in only 9 months and had the opportunity to do some shows to close the era with songs like “Quit. (¿)” with a brand new refreshing sound or “777.” from the alternative version of “7”.
