Lee Chaeyeon (이채연), mononymously known as Chaeyeon, is a South Korean singer and dancer under WM Entertainment.
Chaeyeon first began her her career as a contestant of, Kpop Star 3. On June 4th, 2014 both her and her sister, CHAERYEONG, became trainees under JYP Entertainment. In 2015, the duo then participated in Mnet’s SIXTEEN, where she was the first contestant to be eliminated.
Later, she transferred to WM Entertainment and became a part of their pre-debut team, WM Ggumnamu. Chaeyeon had then gotten the chance to participate in Mnet’s infamous survival show, PRODUCE 48, which made Chaeyeon become a member of IZ*ONE, after placing twelfth in its final ranking. Despite their huge success in the Korean music industry, the group disbanded in April 2021 after their two year and a half contract.
After IZ*ONE’s disbandment, Chaeyeon became a contestant on another show aired by Mnet, titled Street Woman Fighter. She was put in the dance crew called WANT, consisting of high-skilled choreographers, including Choi Hyojin.
Then in late 2022, she made her official solo debut with her first mini-album on October 12th called, HUSH RUSH. A few months later, in April 2023, Chaeyeon made her first come back with Over The Moon and it’s hit single, “KNOCK.”
