It is often said that ‘some of the best things come in small packages’, a proverb not short of the truth when talking about Leah McFall.
She may only stand 5′ from the ground, but when it comes to vocals this wee beauty is a giant!
Growing up in Belfast, Northern Ireland, raised on a daily dose of Motown, Jazz, Gospel, Folk & Pop played around the family home, Leah took influence from all she heard, later helping to develop her signature quirky sound.
Getting a taste of the spotlight after performing her first solo at her local church at the tender age of 6. Leah fast discovered her true passion for singing, thereafter birthing her ambitions of becoming a star.
Confident that she wanted to pursue a career in music, Leah decided to relocate to London where she enrolled herself onto a university course as a means to survive, using every penny of her student loan to afford her a place to live while utilising any spare moment outside of her studies to work on original music, as well as gig the London live circuit; playing at venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, Under The Bridge & Wembley Arena.
However, it was in December 2012 where Leah stepped onto her biggest stage to date, after deciding to enter The Voice UK (Series 2), where she attracted the attentions of superstar coaches Jessie J & Will.i.am. Who both turned their chairs during her blind audition where she performed a rendition of Rita Ora’s Number1 hit single ‘R.I.P’.
After careful consideration between both coaches, Leah opted for Will.i.am and it seems that under his coaching, her decision to enter The Voice UK more than paid off having sailed through to live show finals where she became the first contestant from both Series 1 & 2 to score an official Top10 single, selling over 100k copies of her version of Gloria Gaynor’s disco classic ‘I Will Survive’, all whilst still in the competition. The first time in UK talent show history.
Her debut EP “Ink” was released on March 27, 2017.
