Laurie London (born 19 January 1944) achieved fame as a boy singer, best known for his hit single of the spiritual song “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands”. It was recorded in 1957 with the Geoff Love Orchestra for Parlophone Records and was picked up by its co-owned American sister label, Capitol Records. In April 1958, it reached number 1 on Billboard’s chart and remained there for four weeks. It sold over one million copies. It remained London’s only success, and at the age of 19 London officially retired from the music business.
