Laurie Lewis is an American bluegrass and folk musician, born 28 September 1950 in Long Beach, California. While generally classified as a folk artist, she is a diverse musician and has often transitioned between genres, making her music unique in its blend of different influences.
Lewis has twice won the California Women’s Fiddling Championships, as well as being twice named Female Vocalist of the Year at the International Bluegrass Music Awards (1992 and 1994). She, along with Tom Rozum, was nominated for a Grammy award in 1995, in the category of Best Traditional Folk Album of 1995.
