About Lane Brodie

Lane Brodie was born in Baltimore and raised in Laurel, MD. In high school he was offered a full ride to West Virginia University on a basketball scholarship. After one year at WVU he dropped out after deciding school wasn’t really his thing. He later moved to Ohio where he found interest in music with influences from artists like Kanye West , Lil Uzi Vert , and Drake, getting more involved with the culture and environment, he developed his own sound.

In his words : “A sound that was genuine yet energetic. One that could be sad but optimistic. Something that was pop but with my slang and my personal stories, feelings, emotions, and whatever.”

In 2018, Brodie teams up with Alex Micheal and producer BJR to create masterpiece project Pop Slang. In the project the DMV native maneuvers his flow on the beat through different styles of flow. Influenced sounds from his favorite artist are noticeable in the project but Brodie manages to add his spice to the pit to make it a totally different soup! In the project he switches tempos and sounds to get his message through to his audience as well as create something timeless and undeniable for generations to come.
