Damien Chazelle’s musical comedy-drama film La La Land, with Ryan Gosling – interpreting Sebastian – and Emma Stone – interpreting Mia -, was released in the United States on December 9, 2016, after it opened the 73rd Venice International Festival on August 31, 2016. The movie won seven Golden Globe Awards, such as the Golden Globe Awards for Best Original Score and Best Original Song, for “City of Stars,” on January 8, 2017. Justin Hurwitz composed the songs and score of the movie, and most of the lyrics were written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
